This week, Jefferson High School celebrated its first-ever Hope Week, an uplifting event designed to shine a light on mental health awareness and build a stronger, more connected school community. This initiative marked the launch of our new Hope Squad—a group of student peer advocates trained in suicide prevention and mental health support. These students are committed to fostering kindness, building friendships, recognizing warning signs, and helping peers connect with trusted adults.
Throughout Hope Week, students and staff participated in daily activities designed to promote positivity, connection, and open conversations around mental health. Hope Week served not only to introduce the important work of the Hope Squad, but also to pave the way for continued awareness and advocacy as we head into Mental Health Month this May.
